FASHION WEEK SHOWS

#PFW – MENSWEAR SPRING/SUMMER 16

July 25, 2015

Exactly yesterday one month ago Paris Fashion Week started and it was one of the best PFW ever. Also because some girlfriends from Milan were in town so we had some crazy-fun nights ” à la Milan” style with our model friends that were around for the shows. My friend and I got invitations for shows that we literally never thought that we would get. Actually we got a lot lot lot lot of invitations – meaning lots of jumping and screaming around. It’s crazy how we built up our connections in this short time and it’s such a great feeling to have contacts all over the world especially Paris. Because… Paris is Paris right?

My highlights this season was definitely Givenchy, Issey Miyake Men and Dries Van Noten.

-Issey Miyake Men had the venue at a beautiful place close to the Eiffel Tower. The designer Yusuke Takahashi collaborated with a young Tokyo photographer Yoshinori Mizutani where they digitally printed everything on shorts, shirts, scarves and bags. A mix of Tokyo and Mexico – “A nature which merges into the city. A luxuriant architectural urban jungle.” I was in Paris but I felt I was in TOKXICO?

-Dries Van Noten was seriously breathtaking. Especially cause I wasn’t really expecting anything “different” at all. But Dries Van Noten took my heart that night by inspiring his collection with Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe. Her face was printed on almost every look such as on a long robe, shirts, suits. The models were walking down the runway with loose silhouettes, tank tops and high waisted pants along with Elvis Presley’s “Love me Tender”. At the end we got surprised by confettis. How not to fall in love?
