Today’s article is about a super cool event that happened on the 22nd – 24th of October 2015 in Zurich.
I’m late with this article because I was in the US for almost two weeks and just got back some days ago.
“Zermatt Unplugged” is a festival that usually takes place up the mountains in Zermatt. You might be familiar with the Matterhorn? But this time the festival came to Kaufleuten, one of the most visited venues for events and clubbing in Zurich.
Kaufleuten is really big! It has two bars, one restaurant, one lounge and two concert venues. I really wanted to go this time because I had heard a lot about the Festival for the last few years, but unfortunately never really managed to go to Zermatt for it. Also there aren’t that many festivals/concerts that are “unplugged”, and I love acoustic concerts… They had a great program with many top-international artists and newcomers. I really wanted to see Alex Clare again live so I was lucky enough to get the media pass for Friday. I guess my experience was a bit different from the other visitors. I met Alex Clare last time he was here for a gig so my friend and I hung out with him and his band. Even though we were backstage we went around the place and saw some other artists that were playing. People were enjoying themselves, having drinks, singing and dancing to the songs.
The festival also had a “Zermatt Village” area where we ate Raclette. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a typical swiss meal with lots lots lots of cheese and potato. I thought it was a super cool idea, cause it really gave you the “mountain” feeling in the middle of the city.
Alex Clare was great. Im such a big fan of him… his songs and his voice are simply beautiful and he’s a really funny guy.
The venue wasn’t that big but hey, nothing better than having your favorite artist super close singing your favorite songs unplugged right? I guess that’s the feeling that “Zermatt Unplugged” wants you to have 🙂
As I mentioned above, I left for the US the next morning so I missed Marlon Roudette that day and also Friday/Saturday. I hope to be able to visit the festival again next year in Zermatt or in Zurich. And for the music lovers who have never been -> GO!!! xx
